WHAT IS PROSTPALM®

PROSTPALM® is a CO2 extract of Serenoa repens fruits highly concentrated in fatty acids and characterized by a well-defined range of sterols and β-sitosterol.

PROSTPALM® has been demonstrated to be safe at 6 times the usual recommended dosages and two registered clinical studies which underline its effective activity for supporting healthy prostate function. Serenoa repens (Bartr.) Small (also called saw palmetto or simply Serenoa) is a small palm native to North America. It grows in sandy coastal areas as undergrowth in pine woods or hardwood hammocks in the coastal lands (mainly in Florida but also in South Carolina, Louisiana and Georgia).

RECOMMENDED USE AND DOSE

320 mg per day of PROSTPALM®
taken as a dietary supplement

CLINICALLY TESTED

In a first registered, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled clinical study on 44 volunteers, subjects administered with 320 mg of PROSTPALM® demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in their urination issues after 8 weeks of administration versus placebo.
In a second registered, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled clinical study on 44 volunteers healthy volunteers administered again with 320 mg of PROSTPALM®, a statistically significant reduction of all main subjective symptoms linked with urination issues assessed using IPSS, were measured after 8 weeks of administration versus placebo.

In a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled clinical study on 44 volunteers1, subjects administered with 320mg of BGG Saw Palmetto CO2 Fruit extract demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in their urination issues after 8 weeks of administration versus placebo.

PROVEN SAFE

In an open label study on healthy men and women administered with an excessive consumption of PROSTPALM® (2000 mg/day) for 4 weeks, no side effects or any other events considered to be problematic for safety evaluation were found.

7 MECHANISMS OF ACTION

  • Inhibition of 5α-reductase activity.
    • Double blocking of cycloxygenase and lipoxygenase activities.
    • Inhibition of chemotactic leukotriene production by cells.
    • Attenuation of response of prostate cells to growth factors.
    • Inhibitory effect on nuclear estrogen receptors.
    • α-Adrenoceptor antagonistic properties.
